====================
Hi Carol,

CS> Hadnt thought of that. Thanks. I don't recall how big the microwave

RH> Most of them are big enough but I've seen a lot of small ones in hotel
RH> rooms. The worst are those that sit on top of an equally small and ne
RH> to useless fridge.

CS> Thats probably what we will have in VB for a bit. I have to make the

We had one like that (for the 4 of us) when we first got to AZ. Next to
totally useless! When we left (just 2 of us) we had a suite with a
small kitchen--much better but we still didn't use it much as we were
invited out a lot. (G)

CS> 50$ a day at the military rate with orders inbound or outbound (owner
CS> is prior military, has a special rate). No real 'frills' but we can
CS> live there a few days. Mia Casita is the restraunt and I'm told by

Sounds good. We've never gone back to a place we'd been stationed at
before so don't have a house or anything to move into. We've always
stayed at guest lodging (or in Frankfurt) with friends until getting our
place. The only exception is when we moved to Fort Hood from San
Angelo, TX; we'd gone down about 6 weeks before & rented a house without
going thru post housing. We did a DITY move and spent a night in a
local motel as there were no utilities in the new place until Steve paid
all the deposits, etc. Moved in to find the previous tenant had left a
lot of fleas living in the shag carpeting (this was 1984).

CS> locals, it's just as good now. Has a small pub that Don and I will
CS> enjoy (pub closes at 10pm which is fine with us).

Not our favorite hang out place.

CS> If we do a picnic my way, Mia Casitas was top of my mind as a decent
CS> place to eat out at. We get drunk and cant get a cab, it's a 2 mile
CS> walk home on a simple easy path with plenty of light. Sidewalks all

Or we'll do the Designated Driver thing. In MD, we had Joan and Glen as
passengers for all the Friday fun stuff--made it more fun, especially
Glen's interest in Steve's Garmon navigator and the wierd way it
directed us at times.

CS> BTW, I'm slow on catchup with the mail from Thursday. Bew my back
CS> again when it was near healed and cant site for long. Cant stand for
CS> long either so doing the shuffle up and down stuff. Good drugs

NO fun! I skipped yesterday and have a lot to go thru today. My back
is behaving however.

CS> though. Bad part, got foot tingles this time and the Doc said if i
CS> were not transferring so soon, he'd limdu me 6 months with descreen
CS> for shipboard until evaluated. Instead, I have referrals to be seen
CS> by medical in Norfolk (if nothing else goes wrong, it waits til then).

Growl..............military beaurocracy!

CS> Grin, bear withthe typos. Valium is strong stuff! Mix it with
CS> flexoril and you can be high legally. Yesterday, I didnt even try to
CS> him my meds with directions on what to take and when).

CS> Good news. My toes stopped tingling about 2 hours ago. Then again,
CS> Don fed me some pills about 3 hours ago... I am not valium resistant

I understand; sometimes I wonder about what I was trying to say when
I've been doped up or feeling so rotten I should have been doped up. (G)

RH> article on lunch boxes and new versions of them. A couple of companie
RH> have bento boxs now. (G)

CS> Cool. I had a micowave lasagna that Charlotte made me with fancy udon
CS> (tofu and shrimp bits) that Ellen brought over. Don got Popeyes
CS> earlier. Elise brought over rye bread. Eddie dropped off a white
CS> cheesy spinach dish with onions. So much for emptyng the fridge this
CS> weekend! Sumio wantd to take Charlotte to the teen center but she
CS> said she had to stay home and watch me so they played games on her DS2
CS> in her room while i slept in the easy chair.

They're all repaying you for past help. I know, the fridge doesn't get
cleaned out but you've still got a few more weeks before it absolutely
has to be done.

CS> kitchen was more planned for demolishment than mine is <g>.

RH> I do plan in advance for both the kitchen and my sewing room. Saves a
RH> lot of trouble at crunch time. I remember when we packed out to go to
RH> Germany and the mistakes I made then; I've learned and moved on.

CS> Same here. We are starting to toss out the dreck like old xmas cards
CS> that we will never find even if we do pack them away.

We make our own card/letter but I understand about tossing old stuff.
I'm trying to keep somewhat ahead of the game here since we'll leave in
about 20 months.

RH> recall seeing smaller turkey rolls when I was a kid (enough for our
RH> family for one meal) but haven't really noticed any in the past few

CS> Not all are the same. The little Louis (you know what i mean I hope)
CS> water type are definately not the same thing though they have their
 CS> place I guess. xxcarol

Yes, we bought a breast a few months ago & Steve smoked it. More our
taste anyway. There's still a bit in the freezer but I need to get some
cranberry sauce (to make Steve happy) to go with it.
