Boy o boy do I remember those days! The worst move for us was when I was
about 9 or 10 I think and we moved just at the end of November...had
Christmas "on the road" that year and it was AWFUL! No toys, No games,
mostly clothes ( for the new climate)and a little candy (don't wanna have
all us kids in the car on a sugar high!). 

-> I'm sitting at a very cheap but fully functional dining table that will
-> comfortably sit 4 or if pushed could handle 6.  Light wiker chairs with
-> nice seat cushions.  Wiker sofa and side chair, wiker coffee table.
-> Lamp sitting on the floor.  2 wiker dressers and 2 actually decent beds
-> plus 2 end tables by the beds.  That, a TV, and a microwave is all we
-> have here.  Fortnately the rooms have lights in the ceiling except the
-> livingroom (where the one lamp is sitting on the floor).

-> 10 more days.  Typhoon tomorrow, about 3pm but looks nice today even if
-> a bit cloudy.  3 suit cases of essential clothes and a few books.  3
-> empty backpacks for carry on luggage.

Books are a godsend when you're travelling! Of course now I'd expect one of
those portable DVD players and lots of dvd's to while away the hours!
I can remember being the "lucky" one who got to be in the back of the
station wagon with the luggage on a cross country trip...I could relax and
read the whole way!

-> Juni just came over and said Hi.  She's going to Tonoo and wanted to
-> borrow Charlotte to help carry stuff back.  Because we expect the
-> markets to be closed tomorrow (Typhoon) she's going to see what sales
-> are on now as folks try to sell off stock fast.  Elise is with her but
-> she's got a full load of kids to watch and Charlotte is old enough now
-> to be a real help with that.

She's almost grown now! Like my Amanda! Seems like only yesterday we were
at a Portland picnic and she was 10 or 12 (ish) playing violin for the echo
folks....and now she's just turned 27 on Sept 11th....Time sure does fly!!

Let me think.....how many places had I lived by the time I was 11......Wash DC,
Panama, Tennessee, Florida, New York, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, I don't
think I missed any....but I was little so I might not remember some!

-> controlled.  Principal called my mom, then flipped me right out of my
-> chair and gave me a spanking. Plopped me back in my chair and sent me
-> back to class.  Later, Jesus and i got to be good friends and yeah, got

That'd never happen these days! I got whupped plenty when I was a kid too,
both in and out of school! 

-> btw, Havent mentioned that time of my life much here.  I had a foot
-> injury with several years of complications.  They had to tie my butt in
-> a wheelchair to keep me off of it as successive surgeries were allowed
-> to heal up.  I drove my mom batty by doing such crazy things and
-> figuring out how to use ropes to climb a tree, wheelchair and all and
-> she had to get the fire department once to get me back down.  I still
-> recall the huge grins when they came to get me down out of the
-> bottle-brush tree in our side yard.

I was lucky, and never got hurt when I was a kid...which is remarkable
considering how stupid crazy I was about stuff....jumping off barns, riding
steers ( almost like bull riding LOL), jumping out of trees, and such! 

-> I guess, compared to me, Charlotte's shennanigans are pretty mild <g>.

I was lucky and got a kid who was better than me too! I was really SCARED
that I'd have a kid that was a lot like I was....and I was a hoodlum! Thank
goodness I grew out of it....and thank goodness I survived it!
