I have a picture around here somewhere, of my maternal Grandfather (lived
in West Tennessee) with a big river cat that he had caught...he was 6'10"
tall and he was holding the cat up with it's head above his...and the tail
was still bent on the ground. I don't remember eating that one in
particular..but I do remember eating a lot of catfish as a child. Most of
em came from rivers and I don't remember them being mushy or flavorless.
They obviously aren't as strongly flavored as salmon, or bluefish, but I
sure liked em!

I did a fair amount of noodling as a kid, but I think the biggest cat I
ever got was about 7 pounds...which I thought was huge at the time and
still think it'd make a great meal!
