 Huh? Which Huntsville? The one in AL is where
 I mostly grew up, and Mom still lives. There is
 a big Army base there... Good idea to indulge your
 unique preferences when it won't be putting him off.

 Well, no, they were of the same era, but my Dad
 was game to try new things and he did love pizza.
 He just had a few dislikes which were traditional
 enough stuff. Hot dogs, for one. And anything that
 reminded him of SOS, because of an overexposure to
 stuff like that in his service days.

 RH> I'll keep my eyes open and see if they are in the area; if so, the
 RH> price.  Factor in a bit more for mailing and see if it's still
 RH> reasonable.  From what you've written, finding room to store a case in

 You're in the South, you should be able to find that.
 Mom found she could find certain items the larger
 supermarkets didn't carry in the smaller units of
 chain stores serving neighborhoods with a higher
 black population. WinnDixie was good for sort of
 stocking to meet local demand, but they are just
 about gone now. That's where she could reliably get
 pork livers,for one thing, and I saw chitlin's
 by the 5-gallon plastic pail. (No, Mom didn't want
 those but I was interested to see them.)

 RH> Yes, nice to know they still have that option.  When we visited my
 RH> parents this past summer, one day mom pulled some frozen pepperoni
 RH> pizzas out one day for lunch.  No better than any of the boxed stuff

 JM>  Frustrating to see what our parents have adopted

 RH> It's more of a case of how my folks cooking/eating has degenerated

 At their age, the convenience is worth it.

 RH> My mom learned how to make a good lasagne after I married Steve; he's
 RH> half Italian. His mom gave me her recipe and I taught my mom how to
 RH> make it properly.  She'd made a poor imitation of it before and needed
 RH> instruction on how to make a good one.

 I never had Lasagna at all before I left home.
