I have several friends who are vegetarians, others who eat
poultry and fish but won't eat "red meat", and still others
who are vegan.  Only one of them (not the vegan) has ever given
me a hard time about eating meat, but shut the hell up when 
I mocked her for her hypocrisy in favoring leather clothing.

My own personal philosophy is not, of course, anything like
vegetarianism.  However, I try to keep in mind that living
things were sacrificed to provide me with my food, and that has
led me over the years to be less wasteful (I try to utilize 
every bit of a cut of meat, for example, for one thing or 
another) and more demanding of humane treatment for food
animals.

I tried to care about this, but instead I found myself glad that
idiots like this will no longer be carrying lobster.  They don't
deserve them.

Large pipes.  If their lobsters are taking up residence in the
tanks so long that they need condos, they need to hire buyers
who can better judge the turnover so they're not buying so many.

And the really humane thing to do would be FEED the lobsters
in the holding tanks.  Strange that no one ever thinks of that, 
huh?

Except they're not dogs or cats, with well-developed central
nervous systems, they're big bugs with tiny little sandbags.

Strangely enough, I believe that it should not be a felony
to drop Bruce Friedrich into a pot of boiling water.

Fun PETA Fact:  PETA runs a "rescue" shelter at it's Norfolk VA
headquarters. From July 1998 to December 2005, over 14,400 dogs,
cats, and other "companion animals" were euthanized there because
it was too much trouble for PETA to find them a home.  
90% of the animals brought to PETA as "rescues" are executed rather
than placed.  No attempt is even made to place them.

I would sooner trust a Gumby to perform brain surgery on me than I
would any EU committee to provide reliable scientific data.
