====================================================================
Hi Hap,

-> HN> So have I my heart attack may have been much more serious if they
-> HN> hadn't had all the new drugs and such!

-> And your getting to the hospital ASAP was a big help too. A lot of
-> people try to brush it off as indigestion or similar and end up dying

 HN> Well, I wasn't that prompt in getting to the hospital....it took me
 HN> about 5 hours for the pain to get unbearable enough that I sought
 HN> medical attention at my Dr's office! However once they had me in their
 HN> control they really did a job!

But at least you got medical attention instead of totally dissing it.

-> HN> Then the foot is doing superb! For stocking up on "freezer meals"

-> Actually, today the foot is giving me problems. After wearing the boots
-> Friday with no problem, I wore heels all day yesterday & was on my feet
-> a lot Saturday. The foot is letting me know it was "abused"; usually
-> the hurt stops after a certain amount of meds but it hasn't yet.

 HN> Why do you girls insist on wearing those torture devices? It's no
 HN> secret they are terrible for your feet and legs!

Friday was the first time I'd worn the boots in a couple of years.
Sunday was the first time (other than try ons) I'd worn dress heels in
about 5 1/2 years. In HI I wore sandals with heels maybe half a dozen
or so times. Since leaving AZ, most of the time my feet have been in
either sandals or walking shoes. Even in AZ (and previous to that) I
generally wore heels on average of once a week--and my "heels" are
generally about 1 1/2" high, thick (chunky), so it's not like I was
wearing 4" stilletoes daily, even before I broke my foot.

-> For freezer meals I'm thinking anything from chili to lasagne to orange
-> chicken and points between. Went thru a cook book this morning marking
-> recipies; now I've got to assemble a shopping list. We'll probably hit
-> up the commissary Friday.

 HN> When I am doing a big cook up I try to maximize my efforts, one
 HN> crockpot dish, one stove top dish (chili or such) and one oven dish.
 HN> Start the crock dish, then the oven dish, then finally do the stove
 HN> top!

I'll probably cook all the chicken one day (and make the marinara
sauce), then assemble chicken dishes over the next couple of days. I'll
hold out a meal's worth of each, putting 3 more in the freezer. Then
I'll work on the ground beef/turkey things so that in about 10 days,
I'll have about 30 meals in the freezer. Rice or pasta will need to be
cooked for some of them and a veggie for others but the main part of the
entree will just need thawing and heating. BTW, the shopping trip will
be Saturday as we're going to run up to Hilton Head Friday.

-> HN> scuppers...but we usually send scuppers to the puppy hotel and he
->  HN> loves it there!

-> Does he ever ask "hey Dad, when are you and Mom going away again so I
-> can go to the puppy hotel?" (G)

 HN> the "puppy hotel" is at our vet's office and when we take Scuppers
 HN> there he knows where the door to the "hotel" is and always heads
 HN> straight for it!

He knows he'll be pampered there, not get any shots or indignant
treatments. (G)

-> HN> I like cornish game hens, teriyaki roasted!
 HN> ->
-> I don't know if this had any seasoning on it or not. I just didn't want
-> to pick apart the half bird with all the bones.

 HN> I usually look for some embellishment when I cook game hens...

This was DFac cooking; I didn't expect anything fancy.

Catch you later,
Ruth
