I serve rice straight from the pot and find that if the rice on the
bottom is fine, the top is a little dry. Of course, I've been known
to eat rice of many textures.

Anyone who collects mushrooms at any time in his or her life
must know these. Must, must, must.

 Some of my friends used to eat rather strange

I was referring to A. phalloides and verna rather than
A. muscaria.

 Deathcaps now grow in Australia. They are thought to have been
 imported inadvertently from the USA attached to the roots of oak
 trees. Deathcaps are found mainly in the Australian Capital
 Territory, but are spreading and have been reported in Victoria.

Straight from the White House, especially for this Cook Book,
came President Eisenhower's recipe for steak, sent by Murray
Snyder,  Assistant Press Secretary:

"The President, like most men, is fond of steak -  and his
recipe for preparing it follows:

Marinate the steak for about two hours in a sauce of butter
and garlic, then place the steak on the live coals of an
open fire, and remove when you think it is ready.

"Many of us have tried this recipe, although we use various
other broiling devices instead of the open fire. We like it!"
