I understand and you are right.  For people sensitive to MSG, it's a real 
roblem I undrstand.  Also, as MSG products nominally use a serving size per
person to low as to not 'count' it is considered sodium free (which it is not).

Advice from our Japan Doc,  used by the *pinch* for a 3 serving meal, not
notable sodium intake and if it allows you to avoid that TS of salt ou would
otherwise add, a sodium savings.  Critical is 'use in place of salt' there as
 well as a lesser amount than you would of salt.  Even if used in same amount
as salt, you'd get a 2/3 sodium savings.  It doenst need that much though to 
provide that minimal 'boost'.

I have many other sodium saving spices in use now. 'Jamaican Choice' brand
curry is a total fav since one of the folks here mailed me a packet probably
3 years ago.  I was bemoaning tht all I could find were indonesian blends and
I was used to caribean ones.  Along came that one and even if I ran out, I put
the bag in my luggage having saved it and took it with us on the plane <g>.  I
was able later to get a decent curry when it ran out, but not one as good.

I have since found that exact same curry and have a new bag.  Found it at an
odd
'hole in the wall' place along Independance BLVD.  Sorta hispanic place with 
also lots of greek things.  I wasnt impressed with their 'fresh produce' at all
but they did have odd cuts of meat in freezers which looked ok (prices
reasonable, marrow bones .38lb etc).  I pulled out my little saved bag from my
purse and started looking and they glommed onto me <g>.

Oh, on my old Virgina Beach Asia Grocery, found out they got bought out by a 
big store for lots of money.  They moved to the same location on Great Neck
that
I keep getting recommended to go to now.  While the 'Mama-san' probably will
not
remember me after 7 years, it will be good to get her home mixed spice combos
again.  She also had low-sodium versions though at the time I had not tried
them
(will now).
