It's just how folks are when you *live* with many who are away from home.  Not
all of us can bring home with us, but we can make a sort of path to it.

It's one of the times when a bouncy 6-13YO kid is an advantage <g>. They love
it as it reminds'em of the kid still home if they were the elder ones.

So like, we have 24 now for dinner.  The couple next door had their kids go
off on vacation and they are late 70's/early 80s.  Very functional but we do 
minor house stuff for them like clean up the dropped tree bits and do their
gutters when we do ours.  New folks arrived from Rota and they wont have but 
the 2inch thick futons and a card table like us so gonna wander over and let us
use their stove for the ham.  Then we go the 12 sailors (actually 9 and 3
dates)
and we got a houseful!

The price is set.  Each person has to bring 2 of the split logs in for the
fire.
(we have a fireplace and 2 cords out there, already split).  The one toddler is
allowed to have her brother bring in her two with great ceremony <g>.  Snicker,
the Chief of the shop comming over has a sort of navy escort setup for that
with
his guys/gals

Some folks make this seem more fancy then they need to.  I'm just gonna pile 
food on the bar (we have a built in one) in big containers and let folks seat
themselves.  Floor seating for most of us.  Think of it as a sort of indoor 
turkey picnic?  Before the fireplace... (reserved seats for Joe and his wife,
as
they cant sit on the floor).

Hey, it's easy.  Thanks though.  I was happy to latch onto a whole shop again
to bring down.  I was not at my 'own shop' til today and the shift I am with
works 5am5pm that day.  Didnt know that til today but told'em what was up and 
I cant make it to work that day (new enough to get away with that).

Hehehe I'm excited.  Most of the time in Sasebo after that first Thanksgiving, 
we did this but I seldom had enough warning to tell you guys what we were doing
as I was busy cooking!

MOst folks freak over cooking for 20 or 30.  Actually it's easier.  You dont
 freak over details and just put what tastes good out then chow down. Then
again
I aint no 'Iron chef'.  But I promise, anyone here will leave happy and stuffed
to the gills with good food.  And if their Momma's cant understand'em on the 
phone?  Its because they was-a-talkin with their mouth full 'agin.

Want rustic?  Don picked out a log to put on the floor and rest the turkey on.
(ok, drip tray under it).  Then I told him it has to be on the fireplace
 brick front so it stays warm.  Awww.
