  I have some information gleaned from looking at the messages, but no
  explanation as to why it suddenly started happening.

  It is only happening to messages that originated at DOC's Place BBS.
  Those messages go from him to Ross Cassell at 1:123/500 and then to a
  number of other places in the world.   Some BBS system somewhere has
  started stripping the MSGID kludge from those messages (appartently
  only the messages from DOCs) but I have no clue as to who or why.
  After bouncing around in zone 2 (Europe) for a while, the messages
  cross back over the Atlantic to either Ross or to Janis Kracht.  Since
  they do not have a MSGID, they cannot be caught as duplicates by those
  who use that method of checking for dupes.   And around and around
  they go.

  It also seems as if DOCs place itself is eliminating the messages from
  getting back into its data base.  Thus the folks from there are not
  seeing duplicates.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: RIBBON SANDWICH LOAF
 Categories: Sandwich, Pork
      Yield: 10 Servings
 
      1    Bread, loaf, dry *1
           Butter or Margarine
    1/2 lb Sharp process cheese, sliced
           Egg filling
           Ham filling
      9 oz Cream cheese (3 3 oz. pkg)
    1/3 c  Light cream

MMMMM------------------------EGG FILLING-----------------------------
      5    Eggs, hard boiled
      1 tb Celery, chopped
      2 ts Onion, minced
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Prepared mustard
      3 tb Mayonnaise

MMMMM------------------------HAM FILLING-----------------------------
    1/2 lb Ham, cooked, ground
  2 1/4 oz Deviled ham
      2 tb Mayonnaise
 
  * Remove crust from bread. With sharp knife cut lengthwise into 6
  slices, butter one side of each slice.
  * On 2 slices, butter side up, place sliced cheese; spread 2 slices
  with egg filling; then one with ham filling.
  * Stack slices, with ham filling in the middle. Top with remaining
  slice of bread.  Press together firmly.
  * Combine cream cheese (at room temp) with cream.  Beat until smooth
  and fluffy. Spread mixture of\verQQ top and sides of loaf and chill
  several hours.
  * (Garnish with Pimento flowers and green pepper leaves)
  * Cut into 10 one inch slices.
  EGG FILLING
  
  Combine all the ingredients for egg filling.
  
  HAM FILLING
  
  Combine ham, Deviled ham and mayo.
