Some pundit or other has predicted U$100/bbl by the end of CY 2006. I'll 
not be surprised. Appalled, disgusted, regusted and impecunious. But, 
not surprised.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Black-Eyed Peas And Rice
 Categories: Vegetables, Seafood, Rice, Pork
      Yield: 8 servings
 
    1/2 lb Salt pork; rind removed, in
           -1/2" dice
      2 md Red bell peppers; seeded,
           -cored, in 1" dice
      6    Ripe plum tomatoes; chopped
      1 md Yellow onion; chopped
      6 cl Garlic; minced or pressed
      1 c  Uncooked rice (not Minute
           -Rice)
      2 c  Chicken broth
      6 c  Cooked black-eyed peas
      1 c  Pitted green olives
    1/4 c  Capers; drained
      5    Anchovy filets; fine
           -chopped
      1 tb (rounded) dried oregano
      1 ts Ground allspice
      1 ts Coarse ground black pepper
    1/4 ts To 1/2 ts cayenne pepper
    1/2 ts Salt
    3/4 c  Green onions; chopped
    1/2 c  Chopped fresh parsley
 
  In a large heavy dutch oven or casserole, sauté the salt
  pork over low heat until the fat has been rendered. Do not
  allow salt pork to brown.
  
  Add peppers, tomatoes, onion and garlic to salt pork and
  cook 5 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. Stir
  in rice and remaining ingredients, except for green onions
  and parsley. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Most of the
  liquid should be absorbed.
  
  Add the green onions and parsley, gently combine, and serve.
  
  Makes about 8 servings.
  
  Note: Even if you don't like anchovies, do not be tempted
  to omit them. They provide complexity and depth of flavor
  without being identifiable in the dish.
