For me, I'll take a cheeseburger over a plain hamburger, but if it's fake
cheese (like McD's), forget it.  I'm really not supposed to eat "real" cheese
on my diet, but every so often, I have to have a real cheeseburger.  In fact,
I'm about to go get a little gas-powered hibachi-style grill for my wife and
myself (since we have very little precious space outside and what we do have,
it's cement and asphalt) so I can grill.  All those years in fast food joints
have helped me learn how to cook better - yes, I experimented with food there
and not by using automated methods - and I really enjoy cooking a big juicy
burger on a grill.  I daresay that I prefer grilled food of any sort to regular
cooking.

Actually, the chances are that if you're getting a Filet-O-Fish, without
cheese, is that you're getting the same stuff everyone else is.  If you want a
guarenteed fresh one, order it without salt.  They have to put a fresh one
down, just for you.  Trust me-I worked on and off at McD's for over ten years. 
That's the best way to get a hot, fresh filet.

However, I much, much prefer Arby's or Burger King's fish sandwiches (in that
order) to McD's.  Nowadays, I get terribly sick if I eat at McD's.  The other
day, I ate a plain double cheeseburger and paid dearly for two days for doing
so.  I try not to eat out much any more since my body is now really sensitive
to fast food.  If I do go out, I'll go to Arby's and get a fish or a roast beef
sandwich (both plain, please).  If I cook at home, I'll garnish my burger with
a slice of Swiss or extra-sharp (yum!) Cheddar cheese.

I stay away from the F&Y parfait because the yogurt that is used is LOADED with
sugar.  I used to make those things 50 at a time, so I started reading up on
the yogurt and figured out that's why I got a tummyache after eating one
(diabetes really makes you sensitive to sugar!).

I wish they would bring back the All-American meal though.  A single
cheeseburger, small fries, and a small drink for $1.75.  Those were the days.

Speaking of fries, I read a story on the CNN website the other day about how
loaded US fries are with trans fat (and how Denmark had nearly none).  It's
because oils with trans fats are cheaper to make than ones without (the
partially hydrogenated thing).  Pretty sad, eh?
