Revisiting an earlier message of mine.

The Boyscouts combined withthe girlscouts to make up a group project to 'help
with world hunger'.  Basically they scammed the stuff out of their own
kitchens and made munchies which they sold at the gate just outside the base. 
Proceeds donated to some world hunger organization.

The local populace was quite happy to buy stuff cooked by the kids and pay
extra.  The fellow and wife who run the little grocery that Elise and i go to,
said next time warn him the day before and he has plenty of 'day old produce'
that they can filter through to see if any is usable.

Smile, see the Japanese are more 'sedate' and so are the kids so to see a bunch
of our kids just take on a project like that, enthralls them with our cultural
differences.

One of the hits was Charlotte making up 'kiddie kim chee' from various plastic
containers with pre-treated cabbage and daikon bits to which she added 'sauce'
of a milder sort than true kim chee.

Another hit was Sancho and his noodles-from-the-deep (the kids got into making
up neato names).  Glass noodles with seaweed and sesame seeds sprinkled with
niboshi (dried itty bitty whole fish).

Terin made rice cakes with bits of oranges and other fruits and the name
translates as 'sunlight at fall' although we joked they were mostly falling
apart.

Susan made tofu cookies, just as good as the 'Sasebo Cookies' at the Tonoo
Market but she used icing to make silly faces on them all and called them
'smiles of Sasebo'.

Joselin made spagettios <g>.  Since he's all of 6 (maybe) his product sold well
and may have added more money than any of the others.  He's that totally cute
age with no front teeth.

There were many others there, some 20 in all but I cant remember all the
entries.  Kids cooking for the most part even if some of the cooks were
'tootled' by their parents a bit. One of the names made me giggle.  'Moms hash
from hell, hope you like it better than I do' (oh my!  What a selling name!).
