Ah silly me!  I seem to have lost the chart I had.  (One of you others, please
post a metric conversion for measures for Carina?)

c in the case above, is short for 'cup' and is a volume measure which is
roughly 200 ml.  Most 'American measures' are based on volume, not weight but
almost all our cooking containers also have a metric value listed beside the
one we are used to seeing.  Normally converting back and forth isnt too hard
if you keep in mind we generally are talking a volume, not a 'weight'.

I just looked at a 4oz can of something and it also says '113g' but you cant
use that for conversion always.  A USA cook would just probably call it '1/4
cup' which visually seems about the same.

The next most often one will be TS (or ts or sometimes a little 't') for
'Teaspoon'.  This is a small measure, my measuring set says 5ml.  The next one
would be TB (or tb or 'big T') and thats a bigger measure at 15ml.  You'll see
recipes that use a 'TB of Onion' and they mean to chop up some onion fine
until you can fill the volume of about a tablespoon.

Just ask as you go along and we'll all chime in.  Quite a few here are totally
used to the metrics you most likely use at home.  Oven temps are apt to be the
most awkward to translate as most of us use Farenheight (sorry, I cant spell
very well, have dyslexia but you can hopefully figure it out).  You'll see
'bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes' and they will almost always mean F scale
as in 350F.

Anyways, delighted to have you here!  Once you get comfy with us all, we will
start 'grilling you' for ideas of what you like to eat and is getting your
husband fat <grin>.
