You asked for it! But first, a recipe.

One pink lemon
cat: booze, hangover remedy
yield: 1

1 1/2 oz Absolut vodka infused with fresh rosemary
4 fresh ruby red grapefruit segments
1 1/2 oz fresh lemon sour mix
1/2 oz simple syrup

Muddle grapefruit with syrup. Add vodka and sour mix.
Shake with ice, strain into sugar-rimmed cocktail
glass. Garnish with lemon twist and rosemary sprig.

Background. This is a thread about how the nasty airline
took 4 rows of first class out of their planes, decreasing
first class capacity from 24 to 8 and increasing coach by
30 (I think), a net gain of 14 seats, if I count right.
The justification is of course that those 24 seats were
largely filled by upgraded elites (read: moi), and very
seldom does anyone actually buy first class. But of course
the airline has to provide catering and various minor extras
for the upgraders as well as for the few real purchasers.
The thread, on a board populated largely by upgrading elites,
called for the return of the 16 first class seats and the
hanging by the thumbs of the bean-counters in the back office
who decreed the change. You can see that the downsizing of
the catering saves probably enough to pay for the cabin crew,
and the additional seats could mean over $10K in revenue per
flight. The flipside is that cultivation of customers becomes
more difficult, as the cushy seats and free booze and cookies
up front was a powerful incentive for repeat custom, with
people competing for higher status ad infinitem, with the
top levels getting much better attention and better upgrade
chances than the lower levels (there are now a rather
unwieldy 4 elite levels on this airline; at first, there
was but one, but each few years brings another gradation).

The poster in question was ripping MBAs, the presumed
culprits, in a ranty and not very grammatical article,
whereupon he was jumped on by several people, whereupon I
piled on, but in, as I said, what I thought a level-headed
manner.

His response to insinuations about his intelligence, with
my short, sweet comments:

The obvious comment had something to do with "but you
probably don't know your gramper" or worse.

A perhaps too temperate exposition of my thoughts. I didn't
even touch on the begging the question bit.
