I don't know about the specialty breads at Subway except by their 
adverts. It has been almost a year since I ate at one - even though 
there is a store right across the parking lot from my job. And I always 
get the whole wheat when I do visit. Never eaten at a Quiznos. No 
special reason - it just has never worked out.

When I do sub/hero/grinder sammiches I go to Monty's (local chain 
mentioned here before) or Bellacino's as I am pretty satisfied with 
their offerings ... especially since Bellacino's has installed draught 
beer taps ... and see no reason to change.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Grandma's Apple Pie
 Categories: Pies, Desserts, Fruit
      Yield: 6 servings
 
      6 c  Peeled, sliced apples *
      1 tb Fresh lemon juice
    1/2 c  Sugar
    1/2 c  Firm packed brown sugar
      2 tb All-purpose flour
    1/2 ts Cinnamon
    1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
      2 tb Butter
           Pastry for 9" double-crust
           -pie
 
  Incredibly delicious hot with vanilla ice cream or, an old
  Yankee touch, a slice of cheddar cheese.
  
  * Idared, Golden Delicious, Jonathan, Granny Smith
  
  Preheat oven to 450°F.
  
  Combine apples and lemon juice in mixing bowl. Combine sugar,
  brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well. Pour sugar
  mixture over apples, and stir to coat. Spoon filling into
  pastry-lined 9-inch pie pan. Dot with butter.
  
  Transfer top pastry to top of pie, trimming off excess. Fold
  edges under to seal, and flute rim. Cut slits, decorative or
  not, into top pastry for steam to escape.
  
  Bake in preheated 450°F oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to
  350°F, and bake for 45 minutes.
