God, I shudder to think.

I used to do that! Now that I have enough paper clips and
clasps to start a wholesale business, plus my sister has
taught me the bag roll secret, I don't any more.

 DS> like the breath of a wino who'd been chewing scallions.

It's a tribute to the onion that the active ingredient is
still discernible over 50 years later. As for as pale brown
free-form clods that smell of booze and scallions, ever
forgotten an onion in a plastic bag for a couple months?

 DS> The strangest (and kind of coolest) items that are self-destructing

You can maybe package 'em up and sell them for fake snowflakes
to use at high-school musicals and such.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: Cheese Ball/Spread Using Dried Onions
 Categories: Appetizers, Cheese, Cold
      Yield: 1 recipe

           Dried onions
           Cream cheese
           Beef stock
           Nuts or poppy seeds
           Minced parsley

  On the last episode of "Re: mega-cooking", we heard Paul say to Kathy:

  PH> I been buyin the dried onions at Sam's for a while, they are

  great PH> in soups and spag. sauce, and great in my SPICY BEAN SOUP.
  I get PH> the "all you can carry for $4.00 size"

  You can also use 'em to make a great cheese ball/spread, Paul.  Just
  reconstitute a heaping teaspoon in hot water.  Meanwhile, cream a
  pound of cream cheese in your mixer, and stir in beef stock base to
  taste (careful, it's likely to be salty).  Add the reconstituted
  dried onions, and form the mixture into a ball (easiest to do if you
  spoon it on a square of plastic wrap, and use the wrap to help shape
  the ball.)

  Roll the ball in chopped pecans or walnuts, poppy seeds, or minced
  parsley, and refrigerate overnight.
