Oh those are good!  I use them too.  Also, if you like soy beans, you will like
edame beans if you find them.  (Shell them, the pods arent poisonous but dont
taste all that good).  They look kinda like large limas in a flat fat pea-pod.
Slightly nutty flavor.  Extremely _gentle_ laxitive effect (will NOT give you
the runs, but will loosen things up a bit.  A bit like metamusil in a more fun
form).

;-)  It's an idea!  I'll try the local Asian Grocery first and ask specifically
if they can find it if I do not see it or do not recognize it in a box format.

Yes, it does but in a milder way.  Note though I use the lowest sugar peanut
butter i can find so YMMV on that.  On Panko, you like rice and panko is
*rice* so try that on him?  Panko isnt made from wheat at all.

If you see 'rice flour' you pretty much have panko.  The brand name type in
Hawaii is in flake shape, not ground down yet finer to a powder, but same
thing.  Here, you buy it out of sealed bins (sealed as it doenst like damp at
all).  The lady i get it at in Tonoo Market has 5 types.  One is a brown rice
with a fat flake that tastes slightly nutty.  There's a fine brown rice too
and 3 'sizes' of white type (fine flour to big flake).  Once I saw them dip
out of the 'big flake' and take some to a mortar and noted the 'fine' was
almost out. Later there was more 'fine' and obviously less 'big flake'.  Didnt
take rocket science or knowledge of Japanese to figure that one out!  ;-)

I really hope I'm not using the wrong name!  Panko is what I am told this is bt
if i am wrong, then Panko comes from potatoes and still not 'wheat' while I am
getting something so close to it, we all cal it 'panko' because it *looks* and
*cooks* indentical.  The local thing I get is definately from rice, not
potato.

Yeah.  1 cup gone!  5 to go ;-)

Don oaded up some in a little baggie for our next trip to Tonoo.  I plan to
show it to the 'panko lady' and see what she can show me.  She's got some 40
bins of 'stuff' there, much of which I havent tried out.
