I'm trying, but we're still in a state of flux for cooking and eating.
We move into quarters in about 3 weeks and I can set up a proper kitchen
with all my usual stuff.  Then I won't have to improvise so much in my
cooking for lack of space, utensils, etc.  I will have to restock herbs
and spices, flour, yeast, etc but understand there's a good natural
foods store just off post where that can be done.  For the next move,
I'm going to hold out my little crock pot so I can use it in the
transition time.

Better than a net gain.  Much as I like a couple of Georgia specialties
(pulled pork bbq and Chik-Fil-A sandwiches), I've only had both of them
just once so far since getting to the state.

I couldn't have done the hike--and, like you, I'd probably be knodeled
out at that point.  The gulash would have been good tho.

It's been 14 years since we came back from Germany and I've wanted to go
back but not been able to.  I think you're trying to make me more
homesick. (G)

I'll have to give it a try & report my results here.  I've been using
the adapter on a regular electric stove; the heat conduction does lack
there so I'm not sure how well it would work on a radiant heat one.

Thanks; we've moved often enough that it's somewhat of a routine for us
in how we set up.  I concentrate on the kitchen first; Steve gets the
computers out, up and running as his first priority.  Then he'll set up
the bedframe and help me decide on what goes where otherwise.
