-> sized bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a "storage" room big enough to be a 4th
-> bedroom, separate kitchen and dining rooms as well as a living room and
-> family room.  It also has an actual garage, no carport or open air
-> parking!  We move in on Nov. 3, staying in a small suite in guest
-> lodging until then.

Whoa big place....get lots of practice vacuuming that place! (grin) how will 
your leg/foot do with stairs?

-> It's a nice area, a lot more urban than any place we've been assigned to
-> since Germany but we're getting to know our way around a limited area.
-> We've found a natural foods store, a hybrid natural and gourmet foods
-> place, a quilting shop, a Hancock fabrics, a bunch of restaurants and,
-> yesterday, found our church home (3rd church we visited since arriving).
-> There's lots of good eats, a number of places that are good for
-> inexpensive eating and of course, all the chain places we're used to.
-> My favorite of those is Chik-Fil-A. (G)  We tried a Zaxby's chicken
-> place once so far; it seems to be a newish chain in the south.  I wasn't
-> too thrilled with my sandwich but Steve really liked the hot (he got the
-> medium level) wings he had--said the flavor was good but not overpowered
-> by heat.  We both liked the lunch we had at Sticky Fingers one day but
-> didn't care for the meal at Longhorns (a steak place).  A lot more
-> places to try in the next couple of years tho.

Two years ago after I retired I took a month and visited family in Tenn, VA, 
NC, SC, and Florida...I LOVED the Chik FIL A billboards! Stopped in at one and 
the food was good enough for fast food, but the advdrtising is super!

-> It's good to be off the road, tho we did enjoy visiting our girls and a
-> number of friends while en route.  Had a couple of good meals around
-> Mobile and another meal that wasn't as good but the setting was
-> impressive in North Carolina (at the High Hampton Inn near Conyers). Our
-> new car had about 3800 miles put on in the drive cross country from Las
-> Vegas on a combination of interstate and smaller roads; Steve used the
-> horn for the first time to startle a deer in a country road in Alabama.
-> (G)  As I get settled. I'll write more about the trip but this gives you
-> an idea of what's gone on over the last 6 weeks or so since we left HI.

How are the girls by the way, and the grandbabys? What kind of car did you 
get?  How did your foot/leg do with all the travelling?

-> BTW, we did hear about the earthquakes on the big island yesterday.  We
-> know the pastor ofa church that was about 6 milers from the epicenter,
-> so far, no word out of him about how it was.  One of our friends on Oahu
-> had never gone thru one before and would just as soon not repeat the
-> experience; Steve's sister and brother in law were on a cruise ship;
-> we've not heard from them yet. We experienced a quake when we were in 
CA
-> in 1984; I'm just as hapy not to have gone thru this one. (G)

The first one is always the worst one...once you get used to em they're kinda 
fun!
