Exactly so. Nothing that you or I can't make without prompting.
And the price of her restaurant food is not completely negligible.

I'm not sure you'd be comfortable there - from what I recall
of the extremely dim room, the right side was dominated by
an enormous bar.

I'd pick this place for you more than any of the others we
tried there.

By the way, the River Street thing is vastly overrated.

Michael's katsu sauce
cat: sauce
yield: 6 fl
5 Tb bottled plum sauce
5 Tb A-1 sauce
1 sm clove garlic, crushed
1 Tb (thin) soy sauce
1 ts cornstarch
1 ts sherry
1 ts cold water

Bring the first 4 ingredients to a boil. Make a thin paste with
the other three and stir it into the boiling liquid. Stir and cook
for 1 minute. Remove the garlic. Serve as a dipping sauce for
fried foods.

M's note ten years later: latterly, I have just mixed plum sauce
and A-1, or on occasion not used sauce at all.
