Ärende: Behind! 537

MICHAEL LOO wrote in a message to SEAN DENNIS:

Yeah, that's very true. Lately, I've been dealing with some pretty severe
problems with my bilateral carpul tunnel syndrome - enough to where I am
seriously going to try to get the VA to test to prove that I have it and
hopefully get them to pay for surgery. It's affecting all areas of my life
now, including being able to cook. Not a good thing with Thanksgiving coming
up...

I'm like that too; I try to follow the topics as much as I can.

ML> 2.1 Gigarecipes, which if made would make a serving or three for
ML> every human being who has ever set foot on the planet. Very cool.

I'm doubting anyone would really use all of that space, but it's better to plan
ahead and make sure.

SD> "single screen", meaning that you will be able to access everything

 ML> Good choice.

Makes it easier for me to do everything; I can write a basic main routine to
handle all of the main processing and branch out from there.
ML> When you've totted up the number of hours you spent on the project,
 ML> you might reconsider that.

Perhaps, but to be honest, the basic program isn't all that hard to do. I've
done stuff like this before (I wrote a POS system for a video store), but it's
been a while.

ML> Yay for black and white! (though I'm in a minority of one,
ML> most likely, on that one).

Actually, Fred may like that too.

ML> I'm a text-based person, but bear in mind that I'm not going to be
 ML> your typical user.

I don't think any of us in the echo are, to be honest.

ML> Is this necessary? As you can guess from my message to Gerald, I
ML> don't like programs that babysit you.

As I just wrote, I'm not going to do any conversions.

ML> No preference. Guess most people would like built-in help.

Simple help is what I'm planning on.

ML> Could you have a routine where cmd.exe or command.com calls an
ML> external module to access the printer?

Well, the main thing with that is it's not my program that's the problem. It's
that the way that Windows and OS/2 do their "command shells" that makes it very
hard for USB stuff to be seen. That's more with the OS than it is with my
programs. However, I will see what I can find.

ML> What about the treatment of internal subheads?

Explain a little more about internal subheaders (what context)?

Later,
Sean
