  We got weaned from that when the grocery store issued a credit card
  that gave a hefty rebate on all charged grocery purchases (I think it
  was 5%, but may have been 3%).   Even after that card went belly up,
  the credit union master card gave 1% on all purchases and so we use it
  for everything.   Tell Steve that 1% on your month's groceries is
  worth an extra moderate steak.

  We buy 10 pound bags of rice from BJs.   It does not go into one
  single container, but gets staged.  That way, the container used most
  of the time is not all that heavy.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: 634732 Cajun Cabbage With Smoked Sausage
 Categories: Cajun, Main dish, Side dish
      Yield: 1 servings
 
      1 ts Salt
    3/4 ts Sweet paprika
    1/2 ts White pepper
    1/4 ts Onion powder
    1/4 ts Garlic powder
    1/8 ts Cayenne
    1/4 ts Black pepper
    1/4 ts Dried thyme
    1/8 ts Dried basi
     12 tb Unsalted butter
      2    Onions, julienned
    1/2    Head cabbage, shredded
    1/2 c  Chicken broth (or bouillon)
      1    Bay leaf, halved
      1    Apple, julienned
  1 1/2 ts Dark brown sugar
    1/2 lb Good smoked sausage, cut up
 
  Mix above together.  Melt butter; saute onions over high heat. Add
  cabbage, 1/4 cup chicken stock, bay leaf and seasoning.  Cook 5
  minutes. Add apple and cook 15 minutes.  Add sugar and remaining
  broth. Add sausage; cook until hot.
