It has been proposed by the Southwest Airlines marketing
research people that the current system of "open seating" be
replaced by one that includes elements of the assigned-seating
systems of normal carriers, but Herb Kelleher said that there
was no way that would happen so long as he was CEO.

 CS> I do recall one minor ruckus.  Got seated once where another had used
 CS> my  underseat carryone spot and when I objected, he told me to move. 
 CS> Needless to  say *he* was moved pretty fast.

The other day I got to my seat to find a large carryon
underneath the seat in front of me. I ended up having
nobody next to me, so I put my computer bag (and my feet)
in the footspace of the next seat but did point out to
the flight attendant when she was making her safety check
that I didn't know whose bag was there. She sort of
blushed and said that it was in fact hers.

Sort-of-Thai noodles
cat: pasta, celebrity
servings: 4

1/2 lb very thin rice noodles
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c fish sauce
1/4 c unseasoned rice vinegar or white vinegar
2 Tb peanut oil
1/2 lb med shrimp, peeled, deveined
2 garlic cloves minced
1/2 lb ground pork
4 scallions, sliced into 1/2" lengths
2 eggs
1 ts crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 c salted peanuts, ground or chopped fine
1 lime, cut into wedges, for garnish
Sriracha, for garnish

Soak noodles in hot water to cover for 20 min or
until soft. Drain and set aside.

Combine sugar, fish sauce, and vinegar. Set aside.

Stir-fry shrimp 1 min in oil. Remove shrimp with a
slotted spoon and set aside.

In the same oil, fry garlic for 30 sec. Add pork and
half the scallions. Cook until pork is no longer red.
Add drained noodles and toss. Add fish sauce mixture,
toss, reduce heat to medium, and cook until liquid is
absorbed, 5-8 min.

Push aside the noodles and crack 1 egg into the space,
breaking the yolk. Tilt the pan to get a thin sheet of
egg; scramble until set, then mix cooked egg into the
noodles. Repeat with other egg. Add shrimp, remaining
scallions, and red pepper flakes. Add lime juice. Mix
well and stir-cook 1 min. Turn out onto a serving dish.
Sprinkle some peanuts over. Serve garnished with lime
wedges, remaining peanuts, and Sriracha.
