Hi Ruth!

I'd thought about that but it went from person to person :( That's why I
figured it was a virus.

hehe.. could be I guess.. but it went through pretty much everyone in the
house.. :) Ron and I were renting the upstairs of my mother's house at the
time when we first started getting it.. We'd started our software company
(Invisible Light Software - loved the name we came up with (grin)), sold our
house and commandeered the upstairs of my mom's 12 room house :) My parents
already had a 3 room apt. up there, so we just opened up the rest of the
upstairs so we'd have room for kids, computers and Dog. Oh and Ron and I of
course (grin). Ron no doubt did in his back one of the times when we moved..
he'd do things like put a refrigerator on his back :( He's a big guy, but I
don't think anyone has a back that could that kind of thing...at least not for
long :)

That's good to hear :) How long have you had MS now?

Ok, I can understand that.. they try to clip things as soon as possible with
the crab drugs, so it can be hard to know, I'm sure.

> Generally, once I get a symptom it's mine to keep. They get better or worse
> but usually don't go away entirely.

Probably a good sign really. Mine was very much like that in the beginning and
for several years after I first got it.. Now most of those things are gone
completely - blindness in both eyes, deafness in one ear, legs
'telecoping' .. my legs and spine just 'crumbled', incredible intolerance of
Cold or HOT weather.. boy did I get the shakes in Sullivan County for years
when we'd visit Ron's parents in Winter. All of those things mostly went away,
but always lingered for a while as you mentioned, but eventually totally went
away. I did get some new symptoms maybe 10-15 years ago.. drop foot in my right
leg.. that stuck for a while but even that isn't there all the time.. just
sometimes.. and of course the parasthesia isn't there all the time... but as
this Topamax hit me so hard, that's why I'm hesitant to start any of the crab
drugs. Anyway, hang in there (guess we don't have a choice huh? :))

> -> > Not really. Not around here. > ->
> -> Yeah, you only see them generally in the early spring..

> Critters, or basil plants?

Sorry :) Potted Basil plants.

> It's a thought, but a bit too late now. The plants survived but they're

I had one year where the tomatoes were all over the place on the plants.. but
it was that year that the summer was sooooo cold.. the tomatoes never ripened..
and they were early-girls :( I had a TON of green tomatoes hahaha.. I'd bring
some inside and some would eventually ripen, but not like when they're outside
soaking up sun.

> -> > It didn't smell, so it wasn't that bad. And no guts hanging out.

That works.. :)

> -> maybe they think they are tigers Lol... Did Max fetch qtips if you threw

> They think they're lions, I think. Or bobcats. Max never fetched anything

Ah.. I never would have thought to do it with Pete.. but his owner told me to
do it because he couldn't believe how much Pete loved to fetch them :) :) I'd
through 4 or five Qtips on the floor, and he'd pick them up in his mouth and
bring them back to me.. It was so neat to watch him do it.

> -> Tina, my current kitty, is about 1/3 the length that Pete was.. and I

I think Pete weighed about 25 lbs.. boy that doesn't seem right though.. I'll
have to ask Ron if he remembers. He looked 'skinny', but that's because his
body and tail were so long.

> -> him when he was six.. Ron's boss couldn't keep him because of situations

Very very neat ;)

> -> I'd like to get another Maine Coon someday.

> I still miss Maxie. Unlike the two I have now, he had a brain. I swear

Know what you mean - Max sounds a lot like Pete. Well, I was telling Ron
about Max (we always love hearing other people have Maine Coons) and he said if
I find a Maine Coon we'll get one.. He really loved Pete as well. I started to
say, Tina won't be real happy and he said, oh she'll deal with it Lol.. Hope
he's right haha.. well, have to find a breeder first, so Tina is safe for now
:)

Take care,
Janis
