That's a shame. Restaurants, and in fact nearly all public places
are smoke-free in most Canadian jurisdictions. Places on Native
Reserves can set their own rules but most are by choice like the
River Cree Resort: half the casino is smoking and half none
smoking, as are half the bars, and all food service areas are smoke
free.

     Title: Aromatic Chicken Stewed With Sweet And Hot Peppers

  Servings: 4

      6 TB unsalted butter or
           shepherd's sheep milk
           butter
      1 lg chicken; cut into serving
           pieces
      3 lg onions; sliced
      2    garlic cloves; minced
      4 lg green bell peppers; cut into
    1/2    -inch-wide rings
           salt and pepper
    1/4 ts ground allspice
    1/2 ts ground cloves
    1/2 ts ground cinnamon
      2 sm hot chili peppers
  5 1/2 c  tomatoes; seeded and
           chopped

If desired, remove and discard the chicken skin. Rinse and pat the
meat dry. Heat 3 tablespoons of the butter in a large, wide pot or
Dutch oven over medium-high heat and sear the chicken pieces, in
batches if necessary, until lightly browned on all sides, 7 to 8
minutes. Remove from the pot with a slotted spoon and set aside.

Add another tablespoon or two of the butter to the pot and cook the
onions, garlic, and bell peppers, stirring, over medium heat until
wilted, 7 to 8 minutes. Place the chicken back in the pot. Season
with salt and black pepper, stir in the allspice, cloves, cinnamon,
and hot peppers, and pour in the tomatoes. Add enough water to
barely cover the chicken. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer
slowly until the chicken is very tender and the sauce thick, about 1
1/2 hours. Just before removing from the heat, swirl in the
remaining butter. Serve hot.
