I can fill in some of the moderator history, but am fuzzy on lots of
dates.  When we started in 1994, Joann was the moderator.  She turned it
over to Sharon Stevens for a few weeks, but took it back over some sort
of a dispute (Sharon went on to form Home_Cooking after that).  Sometime
after the 1994 picnic at Pat Stockett's in Colt's Neck NJ, Joann named
Pat as co-moderator.  About a year later, after the 1995 picnic here
near Columbia, they named Gail and I as co-moderators also.   I don't
remember when Joann gave up the reins as primary moderator to Pat, but
I'll guess it was a year or so later.

After Pat Stockett moved to Alabama, she also gave up the active
moderator role.   By then, or shortly after, Dave Sacerdote co-sponsered
a picnic in New England.   He was subsequently named to be equal
co-moderator with Gail and I -- we split the alphabet and he took half.

It has remained that way ever since, although the job of moderator has
gotten a lot less than it used to be when there were twice as many
people and 2-3 times the message volume.

That might make you one of the longest active members.

Sam Saulys was still posting here after we joined.  She was not an
extremely active poster, but was still here in the spring of 2001.
 

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Pesto Potato-Sausage Salad
 Categories: Potato, Salads, Sausage
      Yield: 1 servings
 
  1 1/2 lb Small red potatoes, halved,
           -or quartered if large
      1 lb smoked hot sausage or
           -kielbasa
      1 pt Cherry tomatoes, halved
      2 T  Red-wine vinegar
    1/3 c  Prepared pesto
 
  1. In large skillet, combine potatoes with enough salted water to
  cover. Heat to boiling; simmer until tender, about 12 minutes. Drain;
  place in large bowl.
  
  2. Halve sausage lengthwise; cut crosswise into l/2-in. diagonal
  slices. In skillet used to cook potatoes, saut sausage over
  medium-high heat until browned, about 10 minutes. With slotted spoon,
  transfer to bowl with potatoes; add tomatoes. 3. In small bowl,
  combine vinegar, pesto and 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper; mix. Add to
  potato mixture; toss. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  
  Makes 8 servings.
  
  Per serving: z60 calories, 8 g protein, 25 g carbohydrate, 15 g 6t, 23
  mg cholesterol, 524 mg sodium.
