Steak & Shake burger pucks are chunked out of a machine at a uniform weight
(eight to the pound?) and plopped down on a very hot grill to sear whilst the
grill monkey spreads the meat by mashing down on the patty with his very stiff
spatula. They are as close to hand-formed as you can get in a chain restaurant.
And pretty good. Since the patties cook up so thin they are generally more done
than you and I prefer ... but as they are fairly fatty they carry quite a bit
of flavour. I generally order mine with tomato, chopped onion (raw) and
ustard.

Nearly all restaurant chilli has beans in it. Beans are much cheaper than meat.
The Steak & Shake recipe is/was originally from Ray DeFrates (of Sprin-A-Leak)
who lost it to Gus Belt in a poker game back in the early days of Steak &
hake.

Steak & Shake onion rings are frozen and not very good. Their baked beans side
dish OTOH is pretty good.

A Saturn model of Urban Attack Vehicle. The Saturn line is pretty bullet proof
as far as reliability goes. And has never, ever turned a profit for GM.

      Title: Blue Cheese Crusted Tomatoes
 Categories: Five, Vegetables, Cheese, Appetisers
      Yield: 6 servings
 
    1/2 c  Fine dry breadcrumbs
      1 tb Olive oil
     12 md Tomatoes
    3/4 c  Crumbled blue cheese (3 oz)
 
  The flavors of two classic steakhouse menu items—blue cheese
  dressing and stewed tomatoes—are combined in one incredible,
  simple-to prepare grilled dish.
  
  Prepare barbecue (high heat), leaving opposite side unlit if
  gas grill or without coals if charcoal grill. Mix breadcrumbs
  and olive oil in small bowl, mashing to coat. Cut top 1/4 from
  each tomato. Sprinkle tomatoes with salt and pepper. Top each
  with 1 tablespoon blue cheese. Sprinkle with breadcrumb mix.
  
  Arrange tomatoes (topping side up) on unlit side of grill.
  Cover grill and cook tomatoes until slightly soft and cheese
  melts, about 13 minutes. Serve immediately.
