Oh, well, then, you could do that lots of places. I was
tickled when I went to Hooters to see Dom Perignon on the
menu - for $100 a bottle, less than the retail store price.
Of course, it would be served with plastic glasses, just
for a hoot, one supposes.

Thank you to the culinary schools, of which, our Montreal experience
notwithstanding, there are many good ones. The graduates have to go
someplace, after all.

Speaking of which, this looks like a flatulence producer ...
as would

Deep-fried black-eyed peas
cat: starter, airline
yield: 1 lb

1 lb black-eyed peas
water to cover
oil for frying
salt
paprika

Cook peas in boiling water to cover for 25 min or until tender,
adding 1 ts salt during last 10 min of cooking. Drain.

Heat oven to 200F. Evenly distribute peas on sheet pan and roast
until peas are dried, 20-30 min.

Fill skillet 1/3 full of oil; heat to 350F. Add peas and fry
2-3 min until crisp and golden brown. Transfer to bowl and
toss with paprika and salt. Serve immediately

What's the source of this one? I hope you didn't
make it up. The five-spice and white pepper won't
make anything "la" unless you grossly overused
the latter. Anyhow, it looks way too plain and way
too weird.
