My beef is about 20% cheaper than at the chain store. That's for a
50 pound mixed "basket" of assorted cuts that comes in roughly the
same proportions as I'd get if I ordered a whole side, It's from a
small independent butcher shop not right from a farmer.
            
We asked for minimum hamburger so we got a LOT of stew meat, in one
inch cubes. I was getting tired of stews so I pounded some of the
cubes flat into little "steakettes". Even though they were from the
chuck they were reasonably tender after all that pounding. My 9 year
old granddaughter Neekha helped. I told her to name all the chunks
after people she didn't like and then smack them with the mallet.
She loved doing that. "This one is my former best friend who macked
on my boyfriend. This one is my ex-boyfriend. And the big, fat one
is my step-father. Bam! Bam! Bam!"  I should be a child
psychologist, not a Realtor! [g]

That's very reasonable for good chicken.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Bavarian Pot Roast
 Categories: Beef, Main dish, Crockpot
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      4 lb Beef arm pot roast
      1 ts Vegetable oil
  1 1/2 ts Salt
    1/8    Freshly ground black pepper
    1/2 ts Ground ginger
      3    Whole cloves
      4 md Apples - cored and
           Quartered
      1 sm Onion - sliced
    1/2 c  Apple juice
      3 tb Flour
      3 tb Water
 
  Wipe roast well and trim off all excess fat; lightly rub top of
  roast with oil; dust with salt, pepper and ginger; insert cloves
  into roast; place apples and onions into crockpot and top with
  roast; (cut in half, if necessary, to fit easily) pour apple
  juice around roast, not over the top; cover and cook on LOW for 10
  to 12 hours; remove roast and apples to a warm platter; turn crockpot
  to HIGH; make a smooth paste of the flour and water then stir it
  into crockpot; cover and cook until thickened.
