There are several others in the beer world too. The Carling Black
Label name was licensed to different breweries in different
countries. And then those breweries got bought out and taken over
two or three times. Carling is defunct in Canada but Black Label
name lives on in the hands of several direct competitors.

  Servings: 16

      2    eggs
      1 ts salt
      2 pk yeast
      4 c  milk
      8 c  flour
      1 T  oil
      1 c  sugar

Mix and let rise 4 times, shape into circles and put in frying pan
with oil half way up the batter make sure the oil is hot and fry you
will love it, and incidentally my husband says it is the best
because it is LAKOTA but I know that they learned it from a Cree.

Wojapi: Wojapi is just fruit you cook it like you would cook fruit
for a pie filling add a little corn starch (traditionally something
like Arrowroot would have been used as a thickener) to thicken and
you eat it with fry bread (Abubu) or over ice cream or waffles or
with anything you like traditionally choke cherries were used but you
can use blueberries or almost anything you want way good stuff
incidentally the abubu and wojapi are lakota if you are short on
time you can always use the prepared pie filling heat it and thicken
it a little but it's not as good as the wojapi you make yourself.

This recipe came to me from a Cree (in Canada) friend who married a
Lakota guy. The recipe is Lakota. I made Abubu and Wojapi at our
last family reunion.
