It is an intriguing idea.   And I suspect that a number of people will
give it a try.  But with the price at $0.35 per use *on sale* I think
that I will give it a pass.   Making your own is an interesting thought.
You'd have to find a suitable wood skewer that would take to absorbing
stuff and then infuse them with the spices and oils you want to use.

Sort of the same economics as making up your own spice mixes instead of
buying the ready made mixes of <insert name of your favored> chef:-}}


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Chocolate Orange Muffins
 Categories: Muffins, Fruit, Chocolate
      Yield: 1 servings
 
      2    Medium-size eating oranges,
           -well scrubbed and wiped
           -dry
      3 oz Bittersweet chocolate
      1 c  Granulated sugar
    1/2 c  (1 stick) butter, at room
           -temperature
      2 lg Eggs
    1/2 c  Plain yogurt or buttermilk
    1/2 c  Freshly squeezed orange
           -juice
      1 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Baking soda
      2 c  All-purpose flour
 
  These are fabulous any time, but especially with freshly brewed coffee
  or espresso.
  
  With the quick and easy food processor method (below) the muffin
  batter can be prepared in the time it takes the oven to heat up. Use a
  good-quality eating chocolate such as Lindt or Tobler. Serve hot or
  warm.
  
  Heat oven to 375F. Grease muffin cups or use foil baking cups.
  
  Finely grate orange peel. Try to take just the orange part. A little
  white pith will probably adhere.
  
  Chop chocolate with a large knife.
  
  Using a wooden spoon or an electric mixer, beat sugar and butter in a
  large bowl until pale and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add
  orange peel.
  
  Add yogurt, orange juice, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix very
  well. Batter will be quite liquid.
  
  Sprinkle flour, then chocolate, over batter. Fold gently, just enough
  to blend in flour.
  
  Scoop the batter into the muffin cups. Bake 15 to 25 minutes, or until
  golden brown and springy to the touch. Turn out onto a rack.
  
  Note: With the food processor method, use the pulse on/off lever of
  the food processor to chop the chocolate coarsely. Tip out onto a
  sheet of wax paper. Remove orange peel with a vegetable peeler. Put
  peel and sugar in food processor and process about 30 seconds until
  peel is finely chopped. Add butter and process a few seconds until
  creamy. Scrape sides. Add eggs one at a time, processing after each
  addition. Add yogurt, orange juice, baking powder, and soda. Process
  a few seconds to blend. Scrape mixture into a large bowl. Gently fold
  in flour and chocolate Continue as above.
