I'm quite the same, and when talking with certain 
fans at the ballpark I'll find myself lapsing into 
dialect with them...most commonly with Hawaiians 
and folks from the UK. I had a simliar incident 
yesterday at the Microsoft Company meetng, 
I was chatting with a gentleman from India and 
had lapsed into a brit accent while doing so, and 
it included the particular lilt that Indians have 
when they've been educated in the UK, the fact 
that I know some hindi words and was using them 
in the conversation further confusesed him...
finally he asked me what part of India I had lived 
in and I admitted that I had never been to India 
but knew and worked with a number of them  
and had picked up a bit of the language from 
them...He was amazed and was sure that I 
had come from the west coast of India! I did 
not tell him that many, many American's can 
use that accent...we've heard it enough when
we call tech support, or customer service (grin)!
