If it had been small enough, it was a German Sheppard sized thing, we
"could" have let nature run it's course.  As I mentioned here earlier,
Connie spotted a coyote hauling off a rabbit from the house next to
where the dog lived.  Plus folks are being fined for not using bear
proof trash containers, in specific neighborhoods.  Our main problem
now is the moose stripping the bark off of the trees in the yard.  PITA
to get rid of them, the trees, after they've died.  On that topic it's
illegal to kill a moose here in town, probably with a permit it'd be
OK, but if one is dead on your property...it's your problem on how to
remove it.  :-)

From a book I just finished:

MM: Rabbit Stew
---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Rabbit Stew
 Categories: Abfarr, Ffbb, Meat
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      1 ea Rabbit, about 3 pounds,
           -cut up
    1/2 c  Flour, all-purpose
      1 tb Salt, kosher
      1 ts Pepper, black, fresh ground
      4 tb Butter, unsalted
      2 ea Onion, medium, sliced
      2 c  Potato, waxy, chopped
      2 c  Broth, chicken
      1 c  Wine, white
      2 tb Herbs, fresh, chopped, such
           -as thyme, oregano, or
           -parsley, divided
 
  Toss the rabbit pieces in the flour and salt and
  pepper.
  
  Place a 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat,
  add the butter, and melt.  Once the butter has melted,
  add the rabbit and brown on all sides, about 15
  minutes.  Add the onions, potatoes, broth, wine, and
  half of the herbs.  Cover and bring to a simmer.  Cook
  the rabbit for 25 minutes, then uncover and cook for
  another 10 minutes.  Remove from the heat, sprinkle on
  the remaining herbs, and serve immediately.
