That's what we were figuring.  But, it's only if you go for the top
loaders  with agitators.  We were looking for a front loader as a
possible replacement. I like the Calypso as it's a top loader but with
no agitator and is almost (but not quite) as energy efficient as front
loader.

I imagine you did.  Steve was feeling pretty good about having fixed the
washer but didn't get a steak out of it.  He just got the satisfaction
of knowing his dad's handy man genes made it down to him.

We had to replace the clutch in our old washer while we were in AZ.  The
machine lasted a few more years, dying at age 19 (but it had 6 years in
storage while we were in Germany) of a busted tub seal. It went belly up
while doing a load of Steve's uniforms while we were in HI.

I know; I would have felt the same way had I been in your position.
