I looked up "La Taska," while perusing your post as I sometimes do.  
The only "La Tasca" in Boston I could find was "Tasca of Boston."   
The other "Tasca" restaurants were a chain, not in Boston.   None of 
them seemed to be "La Tasca."   If it's the "Taska of Boston" your
description doesn't jibe with the other reviews I could find -- 
that's supposed to be a real snarky tapas place.   So where is the 
La Taska you went to?

ml-> I drank three times as much as anyone else 

Feel free to leave out the obvious.

ml-> a nice Vina Sol that did a good imitation of a Chardonnay, 

I think I had that, but it was only a cheap, uh inexpensive, wine 
at about $5 or $6 so it might not be what you speak of.  It was 
just a nice sharp Spanish white wine.

ml-> Paella vegetariana 

We had Paella non-vegetariana in the Canary Islands yonks ago.  
It startled me back then [pre Cooking Echo] that the shrimp was 
still in the shell.  I vaguely remember that it was quite good.  
I don't know if the natives ate the shrimp shells and all, al la
SacerdoteLoo, or if they shelled them.   We did.  Very Messy.

We were very careful about the water, drinking only bottled fluids.
Never gave a thought to the salad... washed and still wet with local
water.  Oh my! That was my first and only loss to Montezuma's Revenge.

ml-> pork medallions wrapped a la filet mignon
ml-> in bacon, grilled, and served with Cabrales sauce. I asked for
ml-> the sauce on the side, but it came with, so it got whisked back
ml-> to the kitchen.  The replacement was very porky, and I let the
ml-> others fight over the cheese. 

In general, I don't like to have sauces or condiments on my meat.
[admittedly with many exceptions] Did you ask for the sauce on the 
side for similar reasons?

What dost thou mean the substituted pork was very porky?  Inquiring 
minds, etc..

ml-> I felt guilty about how much I drank and how much Jonathan packed
ml-> away, so I didn't let the neighbors pay.

Resolve:  Urge large amounts of alcohol on Michael when we Echoists 
dine with him again, and someone over eat.  

[I don't think he gets grouchy with booze, just a little more 
querulous, so it might be worth while.]  [And don't feel bad 
about being tough on him in the current financial situation... 
his lifestyle is over spending his income.]
