The youngest generation like dirt cakes almost as much as they do
an O'Henry bar stuck in a batch of lemon Jell-O served up in a baby
potty for a bowl.

A dessert for grownups:

     Title: Chocolate Stout Cupcakes
Categories: cakes, beer, chocolate
  Servings: 12

    3/4 c  unsweetened cocoa, plus more
           for dusting
           finished cupcakes
      2 c  sugar
      2 c  all-purpose flour
      1 ts baking soda
        pn fine salt
      1    bottle stout beer
      1    stick butter, melted
      1 TB vanilla extract
      3 lg eggs
    3/4 c  sour cream
           raspberries for garnish
           CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
      8 oz cream cheese, room
           temperature
  1 1/2 c  powdered sugar
           zest of 1 lemon (for lemon
           frosting) or
      1 ts instant espresso powder (for
           espresso frosting) and
    1/2 ts vanilla (for espresso
           frosting)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together
the cocoa, sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt. In another medium
mixing bowl, combine the stout, melted butter, and vanilla. Beat in
eggs, one at time. Mix in sour cream until thoroughly combined and
smooth. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.

Divide the batter equally between muffin tins, filling each 3/4
full.

Bake for about 12 minutes and then rotate the pans. Bake another 12
to 13 minutes until risen, nicely domed, and set in the middle but
still soft and tender. Cool before turning out.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Beat the cream cheese with an electric mixture until lighter and
fluffy. Gradually add the sugar until it's well incorporated and
the mixture is still fairly fluffy. Divide frosting into two bowls
(I made a bit more of the espresso frosting, as I had 12 chocolate
cupcakes and only 9 lemon ones).
