Seems that way.  There are a lot of good recipies in that book.  They
made an emphasis on whole grains and chemical free (nitrate free bacon
for instance) products with it. The first LLLI cook book hadn't; it's
quite interesting comparing the 2.  I still modify some of the recipes
even more. (G)

I know we tried to get one of my sisters in law into a group in 1981.
She lived in the Brockport area at the time, now is in town where Steve
grew up, a bit west (Hulberton).  She tried nursing but didn't really
have much success so went to bottle feeding rather quickly.  Probably
did so because she bottle fed the first one and was more comfortable
with it.

That made it really nice.  Of course most families didn't need all of
the information in one month (G) but it was nice if you wanted a "crash
course."  Steve was kidded at the time that he could run a meeting
because he was so well informed from reading what I picked up & books he
bought. Once he even gave a strong pitch for nursing to one of the local
law enforcement guys in the town where we lived.  We were talking babies
with him as he told us his wife was expecting which led into questions
on feeding............................

Like her aunt; Deborah gained 2 1/2 pounds her first mont, 2 her second.
I don't recall Rachel's stats but I don't think it was that fast a gain.

That makes all the difference in the world, a doctor who is willing to
work with you instead of against you. Of course having a healthy baby as
Exhibit A is nice too. (G)

Sounds good; we'll have to make a change when Steve retires. I just had
to request a new doctor so I asked for the one he sees.  Generally I've
seen internal med doctors (and other specialists) while Steve has seen
the one assigned to the unit so this will be a change, both having the
same doctor.

If we were living in western NY, I'd be shopping Wegmans as my primary
grocery store.  When we were up there over the summer, I picked up some
things at a super Wal Mart.  They didn't have all I wanted so went over
to Wegmans for the rest.  The beef for the bracciole came from there.

Sounds like a good plan to me.  Again, we will have to find a new
natural foods store when we move.  Half the time here, I'm thinking of
the name of the one we shopped at in HI when I tell Steve we need to go
to the one here.  But, I usually say the right name, even tho I'm
thinking of the other one.

Cute.  We were surrogate grandparents to the baby that lived next to us
in HI.  I was there when he was born.

Our girls "adopted" quite a number of "grandparents" in our various
churches. One down side of the military is that they didn't see their
real grandparents as often as we would have liked  but the girls had a
lot of fill ins.  To this day tho, they have a good relationship with
both sets of grandparents.
