How about engineering a cute little power outage when the
turkey has been in the oven about 3 hours?

Nope: I have determined a la Kevin that I don't get
glycosuria unless I really carb load without any
protein, so I've done some mild alterations in my
diet, most of which are pleasing to me, as I am
by and large not a starch and sugar person.

Pumpkin with Dried Shrimp
cat: Asian, starter, veg, main
serves: 6

2 lb pumpkin (kabocha)
1/2 c water
2 Tb soy sauce
2 Tb brown sugar
10 dried shrimp (ebi)
1 ds salt
1 c frozen peas

Peel and remove seeds from pumpkin; cut into 1" pieces. In
a large saucepan, combine pumpkin, water, soy sauce, sugar,
shrimp, and salt. Cover and bring to a boil. Lower heat and
simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 min or until pumpkin is
done. Add peas and cook, uncovered, until liquid evaporates.
