I can partly agree with all three
partners! All meals should have a 
steak, huge, and done well (not
quite the same as well done!)
along with other dishes and meats.
WITH an everflowing bar that
knows it's wines and it should
be a feast to titillate the 
tastebuds! 

-> This year he was too busy to plan anything so he delegated it to our
-> bookkeeper, a pleasant enough sort, but no gourmet. She booked a
-> sports bar with pool tables and dart boards and had a turkey buffet
-> catered. The buffet was an assortment of deep fried appetizers,
-> typical sports bar fare: chicken wings, mozzarella sticks etc. The
-> dinner was dry overdone turkey, uninspired mashed potatoes, weird
-> wet cracker dressing, thick pasty gravy and an over cooked broccoli
-> and cauliflower medley. But she thought it was delicious and unlike
-> most company dinners she could recognize each ingredient. She won't
-> try seafood, meat other than beef and pork, organ meats, anything
-> form my favourite Vietnamese restaurant or anything she's never had
-> before. And she was so proud that she only used up a third of the
-> budget.

And she's STILL employed?????? They 
should have put you in charge! You should
suggest that! Send me their addresses
and I'll suggest it to them! (grin)
 
-> The only thing that saved the evening was Rod (partner #3) brought
-> in a case of Louis Latour Chardonnay and a case of Tait's Barossa
-> "Ballbuster" when he discovered the bar wine list had one nasty
-> Canadian red, one semi-OK Canadian white and Piat D'Or to represent
-> the rest of the world - in red, white and pink.

How many folks were at this shindig?
