At some point I shall find a poultry with that appliance and
instead of discarding it will swaddle it and put it in an
envelope signed for the antipodes.

There is provision in the US tax codes for bad debts to be
allowed to be paired off against income; I wonder if there
is anything similar that Kevin's long-suffering landlord can
take advantage of? Anyhow, you should perhaps encourage Kevin
to take the moral high road and pay his back rent.

Good thing about schnitzels and frozen turkey is that one can
slice a partially frozen piece of flesh very thin, and with
enough breading one can disguise the origin of the meat.

I find that since my brain accident my formerly almost flawless
sense of direction has been replaced by a mixed-up notion of
geography, sometimes with bits of my recollection of neighborhoods 
interpolated into the grids of wrong cities. Quite mistook his
wife for a hatish, I think.

Mixed berry shortcakes
cat: dessert
servings: 6

2 pt assorted berries
3/4 c sugar
1/3 c shortening
2 c flour
1/4 c sugar
1 Tb baking powder
1 ts salt
2 ts grated orange zest
3/4 c milk
sweetened whipped cream

Combine berries and 3/4 c sugar; let stand 1 hr.

Oven at 450F.

Cut shortening into mixture of dry ingredients
until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Lightly mix
in milk. Form dough into a ball on a floured
work surface. Knead 20-25 times. Roll to 1/2"
thickness and cut with floured 3" cutter. Place 1"
apart on greased cookie sheet and bake 10-12 min
until golden. Split while hot and top with berry
mixture and whipped cream. Garnish with mint if
desired.
