It wouldn't be worth the effort of a short holiday week end like
Thanksgiving. By the time we got a ride, we'd not have any time to
visit. We'd have to sign up and stay at the air port hoping for a return
ride in time to be back for classes.  Christmas is a more viable option,
should we decide to do so.

That's quite a bit. We've only had two, or the gallon jug.

Some of them are OK but most could be lots better.  I've got a
pulmonology appointment tomorrow; the office there is is good but not
great on decor.  The oncologist's office keeps a dish of candy on the
reception window ledge; my dentist does likewise but his is labeled
"sugar free".

No fun at all.  Lots of pain killers and warm liquids too, I presume.

Their disadvantage then.  They need how to use real kitchen tools and
appliances at some point in their lives.

That's a sad reflection on society as a whole now.  Home ec is out of
most schools and moms are too busy working outside the home to teach
kids how to cook.  Fast food and microwaves (if the kid can read heating
directions) are the main ways lots of kids (and young adults) know how
to feed themselves.
