Damn, and I thought she was such an
intelligent girl! (grin) I like Manhattan in 
small doses; less than three days at a 
time. Any longer than that and I NEED
to see more than a sliver of sky, and 
some greenery!

How much is on the ground really depends
on where you are, I've got about 20 inches
in the front yard, with a layer of ice from 
freezing rain in the middle somewhere. It made
digging the car out a very interesting prospect!
Up north of Seattle there are spots with
over two feet of snow..Normally we have 
mild wet (read WET WET) winters with maybe
one or two incidents of snow, usually 4" or 
less. Normally a snow here would last for 
less than three days before it warmed up
and got washed away by the rain. I had 
to ferry a co worker of Anne's to Seattle
(30 miles north) for a cataract surgery. 
Weather was horrible going up, and 
idiots were everywhere spinning out
and crashing into each other...the 
hospital where he had to go was at
the top of Capitol Hill in Seattle...
the freeway had been plowed and
sanded (here it's more like pea
gravel than sand) but the city
streets and in particular the hills
had not been plowed..so it was
an "interesting" climb up the hill.
I used Anne's Vibe with studded
snows on all four wheels and we
did a good job of passing the 
city bus, cab, truck and several
cars that were stuck on the way
up the hill. On the really STEEP 
hills the city just put up signs 
to close the road. You may have 
seen on the news the two busses
that tried to come DOWN capitol
hill during the storm...and almost
went over the edge onto the 
freeway below.
