Same here...I still have twine that I collected
from the ends of big bobbins that we used
at the post office. I once had a ball of twine
as large as a basketball...now it's less than 
softball sized.

Encourage her to look on Craigslist for her local area.
She'd be pretty sure to find a stove for free. I am 
sure she's finding out that homeownership is an unending
cycle of finding and repairing, replacing and updating! 
No way I could live without a stove!
