Military commissaries have baggers; it's usually an entry level job for
teens or older people looking to make a few $$.  They work for tips
only, no military funds are used to pay them.  Some folks are lousy
tippers, some over generous.  I try to be somewhere in between, basing
it on the # of bags filled.  We went yesterday; used our 4 bags plus 7
paper bags and the bagger got a good tip.

True, and some do try and put as much heavy stuff (canned goods) into a
bag as possible.  Others will split the amount of canned goods over
several bags and fill the rest with lighter items.  Those you have to
watch for so you'll know to look for the vitamins in with the frozen
veggies or the tooth paste with the canned goods and laundry detergent.

We reuse the paper bags at home in my sewing room waste basket and
collecting non paper recycleables.

We've seen them all over the place.  I've got one that I got at the
local JoAnn's Fabrics but don't use it for grocery shopping. It's not as
strong as the others--better for fabric store trips. (G)

Sounds like our Deborah, bouncing around several jobs before the NG
asked her to stay active when they got back from their deployment.

Typical. Deborah moved out on her own about a year before we went to HI
but was in and out a lot.  Her dog was always happy to see her whenever
she stopped by.  (G)
