Quite possibly, particularly if you thought he was considering you as
the next course, although from what I read about the above incident
the man gave up quietly.  I know of a somewhat less extreme case where
a deranged person had been making threatening gestures and words while
wielding a bush knife, and was shot by a policeman, who then had to
live with the result of that split-second decision and face up to the
dead man's sorrowing relatives.

Never having been a soldier, I have often wondered how it can be
possible to shoot another person in cold blood, when ordered to do so,
when preservation of other people's life is more natural than killing.

Is that a private facility, relying on paying customers, or a
government-funded service with a regular stipend?

With your knowledge of money matters I am sure you would have done
everything possible with manipulated mortgages, etc to minimise the
rate of interest you are paying.

That is _real_ hardship!   I'll see if I can persuade Kevin to post

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Grandma Hilda's Martha Washington Pudding Cake
 Categories: Cakes, Newsgroups, May.rec
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
    1/2 c  Shortening
      1    Egg
    1/2 c  Sugar
      4 tb Cocoa
      1 c  Milk
      2 c  Flour
      2 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Salt
      1 ts Vanilla
      1 c  Raisins
    1/2 c  Nuts
           ; pudding...
      1 c  Sugar
      2 c  Water
 
  Cream shortening and sugar, stir until smooth and add egg and milk--
  alternately with dry ingredients. Add vanilla, nuts, and raisins. Put
  water and sugar mixture in bottom of pan (oblong, 8X10ish) and add
  dough. Bake @ 350 for about 45 minutes. Let it cool for a bit, then
  serve up and enjoy!
