Hi Ruth!

> Computers would give me a challenge tho. I'm more right brained and they
> are geared toward left brained people.

It's probably why Ron and I were able to teach ourselves as much as we did.

>> > Have you pulled them out for the grand kids yet?
>> Oh yes.. and then quickly put them back in their safe places :) We
>> have two little muppets that are named just like one of my dogs, and
>> one of my cats.. the puppet characters were named first.. Toby and
>> Tina.. Toby is a dope.. Tina is a PIA.. we really HAD to name them
>> that because that is exactly the personality they have haha

> out of the road, stupid cat" for obvious reasons.

Poor kitty! (G)

>> Yes, that's just what we saw way back then :) People can look at them

Yep, understand :)

>> Ah that's neat :) Growing up in Warwick, NY did it for me way back.
>> There was a dairy farm way out of town... and there was actually a
>> _dairy_ right in the village of Warwick on a little side street...

> You find them like that in Europe still now.

Outrageous..

>> geez, I can remember the name on the building. They actually came to
>> our back door and delivered milk bottles for a long long time... Kind

I think it stopped in Warwick earlier than that.. I was probably in grade
school.

>> of like Christmas :) And when we'd go to Scranton, my grandfather

> Good; the more kids get exposed to the way food really comes to them,

Definitely true :) The kids love helping me in the garden every summer.

> when I was growing up so I had no problems doing it after Steve and I

Super! That was one of the BIG complaints with that "bad" edition of the Joy
of Cooking.. Ethan had removed the entire canning section :( I guess he heard
about that (g)

>>> she's told me, so I do it (grin). I made an olive oil cake with
>>> sucranot for them once, that came out great.

>> > OK, thanks for the suggestion. I've not tried it yet but will let

>> No, I know it's not 1:1.. taste it til it's right (laugh) Or I could
>> ask Lauren, and I'll let you know :)

> That's probably the best way; we've cut back on the amount of sugar we

She told me this weekend that she does use it 1:1 for sugar.. and she also
reminded me about diluting it with some liquid you are using in a cake before
creaming with butter, etc.

> use. What may be just sweet enough for us would not be for other

It's not very sweet, to me :)

Understand.. so you don't have to throw the older one out.. if you want to try
a kitchen aid mixer you'll get everything you need to make bread.. and pasta
dough.. you wouldn't get a pastadough cutter though unless you bought an
attachment.

>> hahaha :) You know, here's the thing.. Ron grew up with those green

It's a classic, that can :)

Take care,
Janis
