Where there are few roads to the smaller settlements, like in Alaska,
PNG and parts of Australia, light aircraft are often the only, or
preferred method of transport.  Many sheep and cattle stations here
keep planes and small helicopters for mustering their herds, and from
time to time there have been reports of a privately owned Mustang
flying around somewhere out back, but no one knows where it lives.

There are still planes which have gone missing, and have never been
found, but occasionally prospectors or wanderers in the outback come
across wreckage.

That sort of topography can be deadly, if a plane is flying along a
valley and the cloud cover becomes too low, and there is no space to
turn and go back.  Those clouds are often rock-filled.

I will try that.  Thanks.  Most accidents here are to agricultural and
home-made aircraft.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: BLT-SMASHED POTATOES
 Categories: Sides, 30-min
      Yield: 2 servings
 
  1 1/2 lb Potatoes- baby red
      1    Leeks; trimmed
      4 sl Bacon- smoky; cut-thick
     15 oz Tomatoes; diced/drained
    1/2 c  Cream- sour; OR
    1/2 c  ; half-and-half, OR
    1/2 c  ; chicken stock
           Salt
           Black pepper
 
  Cut larger potatoes in half; leave small ones whole. Place potatoes
  in a small pot & cover with water. Cover pot. Bring to the boil,
  remove lid, then cook till tender, 12 to 15 minutes.
  
  Heat a small frypan over med-high heat. Add a drizzle of EVOO & the
  bacon. Cook till it begins to crisp & has rendered most of its fat, 3
  to 5 minutes. Add tomatoes & heat, 1 minute.
  
  Drain potatoes & return them to the hot pot. Smash potatoes with sour
  cream or alternative & the BLT: bacon, leeks, & tomatoes. Season to
  taste.
