No, we've not been there.  I think, if I remember reading right, that
she's only open for the noon meal.  I don't know if she's still in
business or not--haven't heard anything about her since we moved here.
Paula Deen took over the town befoe we came & still has a good grip on
it, mostly from tourists.

Yes, it was in Monterey.  We lived in Pacific Grove in an apartment
complex that catered to DLI students.

We were therre from  September (Steve got there in July, girls & me just
before Labor Day) of 1983 to March of 84.  The earthquake was January 22
(my dad's birthday), about 10 pm.  Steve had a bad case of munchies
after we got home from church and before he settled down to study.  It
seemed he was popping up every 5 minutes to rummage thru the cabinets
looking for something to eat.  When he does it now, I'll ask if he's
expecting another earthquake. (G)
