I find bunnies kind of disgusting except in a stew.
Mean little creatures.

Kane is as acceptable a transliteration as kani and to
my ears is more true to the original.

Not at all, unless Nathan's started selling the things
as steaks (of other than the tube variety).

I believe Richard Condon predicted a world in which
people would be chowing down happily on soyrloyn stayks,
which I think is a more a propos comparison. I won't have
any part of it. Unless, of course, the foodservice
companies can find a way of knitting a nice piece of fat
onto their ersatz meat.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.06

      Title: German Lentil Soup with Frankfurters
 Categories: Soups, One dish, German
   Servings:  8

      2 x  Med Onions, peeled & chopped
           Clove Garlic, crushed
      2 x  Med Carrots,(scraped,chopped
      2 x  Stalks Celery,(cleaned,chopp
      2 tb Salad Oil
      8 c  Water
      2 c  Lentils, washed & drained
           Bay Leaf
  1 1/2 ts Salt
    1/4 ts Pepper
      1 lb Frankfurters, sliced thickly
      2 tb Cider Vinegar

   Saute onions, garlic, carrots, and celery in heated oil in a large kettle
  for 5 minutes. Add water, lentils, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring to a
  boil. Lower heat and cook slowly, covered, about 30 minutes, until lentils
  are just tender. Add frankfurters and cook another 10 minutes. Remove from
  heat and stir in vinegar. Remove and discard bay leaf.
   Serves 8.
